Crazy cool architecture with treasures inside...the Octagon House is worth a visit. We loved seeing the original documents signed by all but two of the signers of the Declaration of Independence...too cool to see John Hancock's actual Hancock.

A fun place to check out the local tourism. This lovely octagon house has decorative arts of the Colonial and Federal periods. They have a varieities of stuff, including examples of American furniture, portraits, samplers and looking glasses; English and American silver; some English and Chinese ceramics; and Oriental rugs. Tons of history here! Beware, hours at the Octagon House is open to the public on the second Sunday and the second and fourth Thursdays of each month except January and is closed on holidays ( I made the mistake of coming on a Saturday!) Good people, who is very knowledable, and live in the house!!

This unusual, eight-sided, cupola-topped house of interest to architecture buffs dates from 1861 and is maintained by the National Society of Colonial Dames of America a cool house inside out! must see!
